Mundys raise vital funds for Boultham Park Restoration Project

In 2013 the Boultham Park Restoration Project was set up to help transform the popular 50-acre park in Lincoln. Mundys joined forces with Lincolnshire’s Linkage Community Trust to help support their successful bid to the Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund’s Parks for People initiative to renovate Boultham, with aspiring plans to develop an education centre for Linkage students, as well as fund and build a brand new café and horticulture centre at the park.

At Mundys we were set an initial funding target of £5000 from Linkage Community Trust to support the ambitious £4million needed for the renovation and in turn provide educational development to students of Linkage. Linkage helps to deliver high-quality specialist education, care and employment throughout Lincolnshire to people with learning disabilities – those who would directly benefit from the Boultham Park renovation. To meet the monetary target and to help ensure the renovation was a success, we donated £50 from every one of our house sales, letting and commercial sales in the LN6 postcode area. We also chose Linkage as a charity beneficiary of the annual Mundys Golf Day. The annual golf away days held at Blankney Golf Club raised a significant amount, so much so that we exceeded their £5000 target, raising a fantastic £14,800 over five years!

Mark Commons, Head of Business Development and Marketing at Linkage Community Trust commented on the total raised:  “The initial criteria to become a Major Sponsor of the Boultham Park Renovation Project was to make a £5,000 contribution towards our huge fundraising target, and Mundys have exceeded this by far – raising almost three times that amount! We’re very grateful to have had such an enthusiastic business on board. Their commitment has been fabulous.”

Boultham Park is now a thriving 50-acre area boasting a café, improved park furniture, restored bandstand and a brand new education centre and glasshouse.
