MUNDYS HANDS OVER £8,000 DONATION TO LINCOLN HERITAGE PROJECT

Lincolnshire golfers have helped drive the fundraising total for Lincoln estate agency, Mundys, to £8,000 which has been donated to the City’s Boultham Park Capital Appeal.

The money was raised through Mundys’ Annual Charity Golf Day at Blankney Golf Club in June 2014 and donations from a percentage of their fees for all properties they have sold in the LN6 postcode area.

The £3.7 million Boultham Park Project, led by learning disability charity, Linkage Community Trust,  in partnership with City of Lincoln Council, will see the development of an education centre, café/shop and glasshouse as well as the restoration of key park features. A team, led by specialists  LDA Design, has been appointed to work on the project.

Over the last year Mundys have been raising money for this worthwhile project which resulted in the cheque for £8,000 being handed over by Simon Bentley MRIC and Steven Spivey MRICS, both Partners at Mundys, to Philip Barnatt, the Chairman of the Boultham Park Capital Appeal.  Philip said “The Park holds great childhood memories for me so supporting it is a labour of love and this donation is superb.  When Mundys opened their new office last year on Doddington Road, within the LN6 postcode area and close to Boultham Park, they were very keen to become involved with the local community and be a major sponsor for Linkage, in particular the Boultham Park Regeneration Project.”

The donation coincides with the first anniversary of the Capital Appeal. This aims to raise the final £250,000 of the money required to match-fund the £2.7 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund Parks for People initiative.

Linkage Chief Executive Ges Roulstone said “I cannot thank Mundys enough for this donation to our Lincoln project.  Developing our services for people with learning disabilities in this city is vital to Linkage’s future plans. I would also like to pay tribute to the golfers who supported the Charity Day so generously.”
