Mundys Charity Golf Day 2014

Mundys held their 9th Annual Charity Golf Day at Blankney Golf Club on Friday, 27th June 2014 which, this year, was a fundraising event for Linkage Community Trust (the Boultham Park Restoration Project), a Lincoln based charity delivering specialist education, care and employment support services to learning disabled people across the County.  Linkage Community Trust and City of Lincoln Council have been awarded £2.7 million in grant aid from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund Parks for People programme to restore Boultham Park.  Costing a total of £3.7 million, the project includes developing a café, shop and horticulture centre as well as converting the stable block into an education centre, and restoring key features of the 50-acre facility.

A total of 29 teams entered this year’s competition and whilst the weather was damp at times, spirits remained high throughout the day!  In addition to the excellent quality 18 hole course, players were able to take advantage of a putting competition and other challenges including Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive and our special event this year was a “Beat the Pro” challenge at the 13th hole where all players had the opportunity of competing against Professional Lady Golfer, Jess Wilcox, which proved a great success and an excellent fundraiser.

The day was finished off with a fantastic evening meal at the Club House, followed by a Charity Auction and Raffle.  In total, almost £5,000 was raised for Linkage Community Trust and the winning team was i4C Executive Search and the runners up were Jim Shannon’s Team and Agency Signs

Next year will be the 10th Annual Charity Golf Day organised by Mundys which will be taking place on Friday, 26th June 2015 – all golfers please make a note in your diary.  Further information regarding this will be published nearer the time.
