Lettings Market Update

The Lincoln lettings market remains strong with Mundys residential lettings department experiencing a record month during September. A good spread of transactions was seen for properties located within city and village locations and across all price ranges.

Whilst the tenant demand has remained high, a change in the proportion of new tenancies with a 12 month fixed term has been noted. During September 52 % of the new tenancies created had a 12 month fixed term in comparison to only 31% in March 2014.

It is anticipated that the activity of perspective tenants will remain generally high and reasonably consistent. A slight fluctuation in the activity of perspective tenants is expected with a fall in general activity over the festive period forecasted and most likely to affect the higher price ranges and more rural property locations.
